Well, a very exciting day:
Firstly, I set a PB for the 8 mile blast around Moseley and Kings Heath:

Secondly, just as I was leaving the flat to go back to Lucy's, my new road bike was delivered, a week earlier than expected!
I took it out for a blast around Canon Hill Park, got it up to an average of 16mph, and promptly smashed into a dog that ran out in front of me. I had grabbed for brake levers that simply weren't there.
I absolutely hate the position of brake levers on road bikes - it seems ridiculous that I have to change my position on the bars before I can operate them - but I'm sure I'll get used to them in the coming months. I intend to use this fabulously fast and light bike to improve my stamina and endurance.
Looking forward to having a crack at the Lickey Hills timed run tomorrow!
